026 The failure of the poets

The failure of the poets to imagine the world

the possibilities lie unclaimed
   in Mimir’s head

at the bottom of the sea
the skulls’ eyes teem
   with uncut minerals

it is impossible that the possible fail (of possibility)

but the phantoms that haunt the floating shells
fail to penetrate
the suppuration of their own potential sources

the dead leading the dead
to something less than mortuary slumber
by being somewhat more—

the barely audible thumping
    of the blocked possible
